in 1981 as White Orchid Press, is a specialized publishing house devoted
to books related to Asia-books of general interest, scholarly texts, fiction,
and poetry, both new works and reprints. Our policy is to keep books in
print for a number of years. Books are sold through distributors, booksellers
and directly to customers around the world.

is a series of reprints and some translations of books, both historic and recent past, containing first-hand descriptions and narratives by travellers in Asia, as well as research monographs and studies related to a wide range of aspects of Asian culture. Classified by country; this series includes a consolidation of the contents of the former series Bibliotheca Orientalis and Itineraria Asiatica.

Asian Studies continues a series of scholarly books on Central Asia and
the Himalayas started in the early 1970s by a British publisher. The series
comprises some re-issues of the previous books, as well as new titles.

hardbound editions; where indicated, the books are further available in
decorative hard slipcases. Printed on acid free paper, they are suitable

Bibliotheca Himalayica makes available works on the natural history and civilizations of Central Asia and the Himalaya. The selection of books includes new works by present day scholars as well as reprints of classical, out-of-print or antiquarian books.
