Orchid Books

Orchid Books is a collection of well illustrated books, appealing to both the layman and the scholar, and written by specialists. Focus of the series is primarily on the arts and architecture-both secular and religious-crafts and theater of Asia.

Asian Portraits

Asian Portraits is a series on life in Asia. These biographies or life-stories throw light on extraordinary lives of unique characters who, from various vantage points, have experienced or observed the ebb and flow of history in Asia.

Orchid Guides

Orchid Guides comprises specialized guides to various subjects or geographical areas within the Asian region.

Bibliotheca Asiatica

Bibliotheca Asiatica is a series of reprints and some translations of books, both historic and recent past, containing first-hand descriptions and narratives by travellers in Asia, as well as research monographs and studies related to a wide range of aspects of Asian culture. Classified by country; this series includes a consolidation of the contents of the former series Bibliotheca Orientalis and Itineraria Asiatica.

The Colonial Library Of Dignified Irreverence

The Colonial Library Of Dignified Irreverence is devoted to the lighter sides of past—and occasionally current—life East of Suez. The series is of questionable literary merit.

Central Asian Studies

Central Asian Studies continues a series of scholarly books on Central Asia and the Himalayas started in the early 1970s by a British publisher. The series comprises some re-issues of the previous books, as well as new titles.

Individual Titles

Individual Titles is a series of small but in-depth books that travel easily.
All books are sewn and solidly bound, and available in softbound and/or hardbound editions; where indicated, the books are further available in decorative hard slipcases. Printed on acid free paper, they are suitable for both private and library use.

Bibliotheca Himalayica

Bibliotheca Himalayica makes available works on the natural history and civilizations of Central Asia and the Himalaya. The selection of books includes new works by present day scholars as well as reprints of classical, out-of-print or antiquarian books.

It is possible to subscribe to any of the above series, or books related to specific countries. Please contact the publisher for further details.

Information on availability of new titles which are announced as 'forthcoming' on this site, may be obtained by writing to the publisher.
